Visualising the Invisible
I have been working on some drawings that remind me of magnetic or electronic fields. After researching on the web for a while I came upon this video which demonstrates how the radio frequency field around detectors, such as your bus or tram swipe card terminal, are visualised to help their design.

Commercial Advertisement very similar to Simon Faithfull's Escape Vechicle No.6
A few months back I posted a video by the artist Simon Faithfull called Escape Vechicle No.6 in which a helium filled weather balloon lifts an office chair to edge of the earth's atmosphere. It's progress was recorded by a small camera which transmits a live feed back to earth. Eventually the balloon bursts sending the chair, as well as the camera, back to earth.
Last night I saw an advertisement on television that is almost identical to Faithfull's original work. Dubbed The Space Chair Project the Toshiba ad sees a chair lifted into the stratosphere, all the while being recorded in state of the art HD.
Apparently Faithfull was in some way involved with the project. Ironically Toshiba's brand tag line is 'Leading Innovation'.
