An exhibition of work by Northern Irish photographer John Duncan is currently showing at the Temple Bar Gallery in Dublin. Entitled 'Bonfires' the exhibition is a result of three years spent documenting the long-standing tradition of bonfire building by Protestant communities in Belfast.
Each bonfire is depicted before its ignition, either as an erected structure or as a collection of organised debris. Each structure is unique in its construction and I enjoyed their highly organised sculptural qualities.
The exhibition runs until 4th April '09.
